Sto. Niño de Cebu-Mactan Parish

Sto. Niño de Cebu-Mactan Parish, also known as Sto. Niño Mactan, is a Catholic church located in the historic resort city of Lapu-Lapu, Cebu, near The Mactan Newtown and Mactan Shrine. Established on August 26, 1996, by the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (MSC), the parish was later turned over to the Archdiocese of Cebu on June 13, 2017. The church's distinctive architecture was inspired by the morion, the helmet associated with Spanish explorer Ferdinand Magellan, who arrived on Mactan Island in 1521 and was killed during the Battle of Mactan against the forces led by Lapulapu. Inside, a large crucifix depicting Jesus Christ with His arms extended welcomes the faithful and serves as a prominent feature of the altar. Often searched for as Mactan Newtown Church, the parish provides a convenient place of worship for local residents, tourists, and visitors exploring nearby historical attractions. Catholics planning to attend mass can check the latest mass schedule today and other parish information before visiting this church in Lapu-Lapu City.
