History

Birhen sa Kasilak Parish was established in the year 1974, in the premises of Hijo Banana Plantation in the tail-end of Barangay Madaum. The Patroness was "Birhen sa Kasilak" which is the patron also of the Boholanos that are working in the plantation. Every time the feast for the said patron will come, the Boholano workers will go back to Bohol just to celebrate. Eventually, some of the workers decided to build a chapel in which the patroness is Birhen sa Kasilak, as a result they will not go all along to Bohol just to celebrate the feast and pray because they have their own chapel. Today the chapel stands at the land donated by Tuason family.

Year established as Chaplaincy - 1974
Became Quasi-Parish - 1999
Canonically Erected as Parish - 2011
